Magick
Most concepts of magic originate from early childhood where the mechanism behind the things that are happening is poorly understood, and everything is working as if by magic. The minds default task of noticing cause and effect by observing the coincidence of things happening can end up creating the wrong story. Like, when thinking of something which then coincides with something else happening, and then attributing the thought to being the progenitor of the experience. The fact that the thought does not always coincide with the experience may not deter the linking of the events, and further thinking to try and make the same thing happen again can lead to magic wishing. Confirmation bias will then cause the non-linked events to be ignored and any close occurrences to reinforce the belief. Most of magick is based upon these false concurrences, which are then extrapolated into ever increasing contrivances to try and make it work, and ends up hiding any direct evidence that it is truly working.
But all great men have used magick of some kind to aid their success, and it is not at all like the fiction you see on TV or the websites that repeat it. Top business men use magick, so too do top athletes and indeed anyone trying to be better at anything at all.
I am not talking about the trickery and illusions that the word magic has become associated with on TV, or the magick of the near hysterical demonic association perpetuated by ignorance of the unknown cause and effect mechanisms that underlie our creation of experience, and then capitalized upon by the entertainment industry producing fiction which is never exposed to be as such. I am talking about the methods that create the mental perception of our reality being manipulated by deliberate exercises to cause a change in our experience. That experience can bring forth the capitalisation of opportunities, the engendering of confidence which affects capabilities, and other neurological catalysts that can enhance our lives. This puts the "k" in magick, and in my form of it — Megâk. Even the re-spelling of the word causes confusion.
To get away from the poor public perception that exists due to societal indoctrination and to avoid being burned alive, it has changed to have various names, such as NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Psycho-cybernetics, CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), self hypnosis etc. but magick has always existed in the forms of positive thinking, prayer, and the most used of all instinctual and natural method — mental rehearsals. In fact anything which involves a bit of positive brain washing is a form of magic. We are all already brain washed by our society, but we can choose what we want to be brain washed with, instead of letting a system of society mechanics to choose for us.
When someone prays to God, they are involved in an occult practice of magick. Their activity is 'hidden', and is unknowable from the perspective of another. The activity is magic because it produces a result via an unknown mechanism. But that unknown mechanism isn't entirely unknown — it is the neurological mechanics which is producing the experience of the effect.
Religious ceremonies are magick rituals, as are a rugby players pre kick posturing, your habit of putting one shoe on before the other or blowing out your birthday candles as you make a wish; they are all magick techniques.
It is not just a higher technology which is indistinguishable from magic; the sub processes of the human brain produce the effect too. But it is never more than just what the universe can do, and any supernatural concept is just an observation of a super-normal event. All skills that we learn are achievable by tricks that we cultivate until they become automatic, and the building of these skills, one upon another, can produce incredible capabilities, until they seem almost impossible. From an external perspective this can seem to be magic, but with the understanding of the internal mechanisms, it can be seen to be just what can be achieved through effort and attitude.
Any magic or miracle is a perceived event, and so firstly the perceiving mechanism has to be understood, and when it is realised that this is and always is, only the fiction of the mind pretending reality, and the arrogance of the ego pretending to know or ignoring that it doesn't, you can know that it is all only a story.
The external perspective of magic is influenced by the fiction and fairy stories that have been inculcated into the observer by their society from a very early age, and the wanton display of illusion by entertainers has not helped. The influence from all this makes it almost impossible for people to see the reality that exists beneath it. I know of no esoteric systems that are not immersed to some degree in the fiction.
Magic is the major way, the great way — regardless of the etymology. The neurological strengthening that occurs with the combination of physical action and mental effort, is the path that produces the desired result.
Meditation is brain manipulation and therefore a form of magick. The whole of society and its history is riddled with examples of aspects of magick and it is perhaps only the ignorance of how it is working and what it really is, that separates religion, occult practices, mainstream education and everyday practical living. Methods of learning such as mnemonics, associative reinforcements or tricks of imagination to help performance, are all forms of magick. All learning uses tricks to help the process of neurological entrainment which are indistinguishable from the root methods of magick itself. Once the process is understood, it is difficult to see what isn't magick and therefore conversely whether there is any actual magic at all. As always, it boils down to just words.
All forms of worship are magick rituals. The crucifix is idolatry. It is all belief, regardless of what the belief is in. The neurological manipulation that causes its efficacy is the hidden spiritual path. It is all occult practices.
It is all magick. We live in a magical world. It is wonderful!

My magick is not one of exercising free will like other magick systems dictate, but is instead the other story that is writ around occurrences of events — that of deterministic fate and divine unfolding. Megâk is the result from Pentegraph and the unique life that I have lived, and its practices are not due to any will or prior thought, but a revealed system of inevitability due to who I am. It's construction and invention, it's performance and embodiment, are not really designed by me; at least not purposefully. It is not my magick, but rather that this magick is me. I am its discoverer and it is discovering me. This is a divine path.
This is a strategic approach to magick, which is aware of the hazards of the minds judgements and desires which have been influenced from a society motivated to a non-personal objective. Be careful what you wish for, it may not be the thing you thought it was going to be.
My understanding is that we just tell a story around what is happening anyway. That story can be one of free will or one of fate, neither of which are probably true. My system of magick is about letting it happen in the best way that it can do, to be uninfluenced by society, and try not to have any story of it. No story will set you free.
Your concept of free will is like a blessing that you give yourself as your life follows its course and you take credit for foreseeing your bounty — albeit not quite as you thought it was going to be. It is, and only ever will be, just a story wrapped around another story.
