Lies
Just because you can see or hear something doesn't mean it is real. Just because you can touch something doesn't mean it is real either. You experience this every night in your dreams, and your dreams are purely mental constructs. When you dream, you are unaware that you are dreaming, and only by using a specific test can you tell that you are dreaming and only lucid dreamers do this. We are lied to by our very own experience every single night of our lives, and we don't know it till we wake up.
Angels
The angels of God are us; there is only the mechanism producing the message, and that mechanism is also producing us. Any message that happens, happens in the brain, and it is the mind that conceives and constructs the message. The messenger has to be part of the universe that is delivering the message, and the deliverer and the receiver are the same thing: the true meaning of non-duality. There is nothing outside of us just as there is nothing outside the universe. It is all one. One Story. One Turning.
The angels of God are within us and their message is only for us. Any relaying of that message is contaminated by society and the frameworks of belief that have been inculcated into the receivers of the message.
I have seen angels and I have seen how they manifest and disassemble. They are phenomena of the mind and they have no physical existence. The instances of more than one person experiencing seeing angles or some such like, at the same time, is only an example of a simultaneous experience, and if a professional interrogator was allowed to quiz the spectators they would find differences in the stories which would illustrate that their experiences were not the same, only similar due to the situation and peculiar mindset of the viewers.
It may seem utterly real and is indeed indistinguishable from reality, but it is only in your mind that it is happening. That's why becoming aware that you are dreaming whilst dreaming (lucid dreaming), is infrequent, despite the dreams happening throughout every single night of your life. You cannot tell the difference. It is too familiar. The creation of your dreams is done by the same mechanism that creates your experience when awake.
It is interesting that these divine messengers — which are really rare — never have any really important message to convey! Any supposed prophecy is all rather mundane and inconsequential. Considering what it is supposed to be, it should be monumental and extraordinarily important; no less than Earth shattering in its scope! But it isn't, because it is just part of the dreaming mechanism, and like dreams the experience is ultimately just a rehash of everyday stuff mixed with disjointed fantastical fantasy.
But consider where our concepts of angels have come from. The sources of these visual phenomena and their method of creation. Who has been telling us how it works, who has verified it empirically and been totally honest about their nightly massive hallucinations that they just dismiss and call dreams as if they don't really count? It is all just fiction forming from experiences produced by the mind, which are assumed to be external to it. Every person who has related an experience which conforms to the common view, has not done the work to eradicate their societally indoctrinated beliefs, which are little more than the lies we are all told as children which are then retold because that is just what you do. It is the old stories with forgotten origins which get perpetuated the most. Consider the ridiculous and obsolete nursery rhymes that are still being inculcated into young minds, as if there wasn't anything better for them to be learning. We've been doing this for millennia.
Other people have had the same experiences that I have had, but their interpretation is done on a framework which is just inculcated dogma and nothing more than ignorant fantasy, creating a fiction of parallel worlds and other dimensions to account for it, and which has none of the understanding of the neural workings and nature of the creation of experience. We need to wake up here.

Father Christmas
The memory you have of realising that Father Christmas wasn't true, is buried deeply and forgotten because the utter betrayal that it signified is too much of an enormity to tolerate and cope with. This is one of the moments in your life that you are broken-in to the game of society, to the realising that you have no choice but to follow the game and to give up like a horse will give up resisting as it is being broken-in. It isn't deliberate or planned of course, and indeed does have good intentions at heart, but if you can remember the horror and the utter nightmare of the realising of the betrayal, you would never do the same to your own children.
As a child, you will have had your doubts about Father Christmas for some time before hand, but will have dismissed any possibility that Father Christmas could not be real, because you would have believed that it was an absolute impossibility that you were being lied to by your parents. How could it be possible that your Mum and Dad, who you trust implicitly and who have been teaching you all your life not to lie, actually be bare-faced lying to you, repeatedly and consistently, and completely without shame.
This is the world that we live in. It isn't what we originally thought in our supposition of the divine workings of our lives, and we all succumb to its ways or we would all be driven mad with the paradoxity.
I remember the betrayal and the lead up to it, and also my struggle with maintaining my prior stance after the betrayal, and the irresistible and inevitable slipping into the fold and having to effectively give up on it. Similar instances exist of behaviour entrainment in animals as well as humans, and it is an exercise in freedom to attempt to break these conditionings which have made us automatons within a brainwashed society.
The acceptance of the realisation is a pivotal moment and from this moment on, everything has changed. Then we forget about it and never remember again. Only by recovery of the memory can we understand who we have become and who we were before that. Perhaps it's better not to know.
Everybody in your world has been lying to you all your life; you even do it yourself without realising. All the religions in the world are just quoting someone else and are assuming their infallibility, and so are basically just pretending to know and are therefore effectively lying. Their authority is baseless; their certainty just a guess, their ground work only assumptions stemming from what someone else has told them. There's nothing there. It is 'Father Christmas' without getting found out. And even the atheists have the same religious arrogance concerning their determined insistence that they are right. That their thoughts of how it is cannot be wrong. That they are the ones who know because they have the consciousness and awareness in their present moment of being here. We all do it. We all lie to ourselves. And when we do admit to ourselves that we don't really know, we can extrapolate that realisation onto any other human being that has ever existed, and realise that it is true of them also.
