Megâk | The Astergate

The Astergate is a conjoining of two Asters and allows for the integration of two aspects of associated rituals in their somatic performances. This is an advanced technique in the Performances of Sacred Geometry.

The Somatic Astergates

There are two types of Astergate that can be mapped upon the body: the ones found within the Gates and those within the Mirrors. The Mesokirkos Astergate (found within the Mirror) has a Kirkos between the Asters which can be used as the focus for esoterical alchemy, mixing the attributes of both Asters to produce a paradigm used for self-help. The concoction of a spell that tells the story how you want it to be. Recipes of faith.

I shall only cover the Mesokirkoi Astergates here.

The Mesokirkoi Astergates

Other than the outsized Torsoic Astergate, there are three standard sized Astergates on the body which correspond with the three Somatic Mirrors.

The Astergate of the Observer

This is the Lower Mesokirkos Astergate using the Omphalos Aster and the Sacral Aster as found in the Lower Mirror. Doing these two Asters at the same time coordinates the rooting capabilities of the Sacral Aster with the egoless aspect of the Aster of the First Self.

The Observer Mesokirkos between the two Asters, is the place to start the ritual of ORBIT, with this observance reinforced at its start by the alignment of the Sacral Aster and the sanctuary of the Omphalos Aster that enclose it.

The other two Astergates are located in the head and thorax; the Upper Mesokirkos Astergate and the Middle Mesokirkos Astergate respectively.

The Upper Mesokirkos Astergate uses the Encephalic Aster with the Cervical Aster, while the Middle Mesokirkos Astergate comprises of the Thoracic Aster and Solar Plexus Aster.

All ritualistic performances using these Astergates should incorporate the attributes that are associated with the Somatic Asters that they comprise, combining their core principles into a strong spell specific to you.

The Astergate Technique

The Asters are performed simultaneously imagining the movement occurring within the body, and can be stirred with the hands: the left hand doing the Upper Aster while the right hand does the Lower Aster in the opposite direction.

Each arc (half circle) of the Aster has its own specific direction and path which travels from each point of the pentagram (the Wickets of the Aster), creating 20 unique movements in the performance of the Astergate. The egress and ingress designation of each arc (the outward or inward direction of the half circle) applies to the beginning of the movement.

For the Anabasis Aster performed with the left hand:

The Torsoic Astergate

When the Thoracic Aster and the Sacral Aster are scaled up, the Quoins (or wings) of the Asters align with the shoulder joints and hip joints respectively, with a Mesokirkos forming between them covering the abdominal region. This is the Torsoic Astergate.

The Thoracic Aster is felt in the shoulders and neck as well as it filling the chest; this leads to good posture.

Though the Thoracic Aster and Sacral Aster are not usually conjoined because of their non-contiguous positioning within the Somatic Asters, the Torsoic Astergate opens the way to integrating alignment with grace — their respective associative aspects — into the practice. At this scale the Mesokirkos between them can take the role of connecting the two aspects of these Asters, especially as it comprises the area associated with connecting and integration. In fact, it would be possible for most of the Penter of ORBIT to fit within this Mesokirkos.

The Olikos Astergate

Unlike the Somatic Astergates, these Asters are not stacked vertically one upon another, but are instead horizontally paired.

The Olikos Astergate uses 2 full sized Asters (in the Whyzedexwhy orientation) rotating around each shoulder joint. It can be used as a banishing ritual, and indeed it may have been used for this purpose for many centuries and have the evidence for it remain in the form of pentagrams drawn upon the ground as guides for the practitioner to trace the action.

The Asters necessarily overlap and are staggered with the left hand one arc behind the right using the Dragonfly, and indeed it is only possible to do this Astergate with the Dragonfly style due to the interplay of the arms.

This is the biggest that an Aster can be using the human body, with it having a radius of an arm's length.

The Somatic Megasters

When two Asters are brought together and overlapped, the ten pointed star is called a Megaster. There are three places where the Megaster appear on the body:

When performing the Somatic Astergate with the hands, if the right hand doing the Sacral Aster is moved up the body while the left hand doing the Omphalos Aster stays where it is, the two will overlap and create the Omphalos Megaster. It can be seen from this that the Somatic Aster is in effect a split Megaster.
