Enchanting the Aster

The Aster is quintessentially made up of five circles that are bifurcated into a spiral that folds back upon itself to eventually rejoin at its beginning. Each of these unjoined circles can have a word or sound attached to them while they are being performed which helps in maintaining focus of the pentagram that is being etched. Speaking in tongues is what it sounds like or perhaps a little Enochian. The words do not necessarily have meaning in this form but are more of an unintended intensification of effort during the performance coinciding with each circle and conjuring its path to produce a more perfect Aster. Use it to force the seed to appear at the Aster's centre, the portal to the void, the empty place where our wishes can be heard.

Cyphers of the Aster

The Cyphers are a division of the Aster into partial movements that can be joined together to produce an Aster Gyre or incantation. The break up of the Aster can consist of a cypher of 3 Arcs (half-circles) followed by a cypher of 1 Stroke (2 Arcs) which can be repeated to produce a full turning of the Aster consisting of 4 Cyphers:

Each Arc is the path between 2 Wickets which form the demarcation of the points of the pentagram. Each Wicket is the initiation point where a different sound or syllable can be produced. This synchronisation between wicket and syllable helps strengthen the performance by concentrating upon the points of bifurcation of each circle that create the Entelechic Twist.

Depending upon where you start the sequence, different Cyphers will be produced, and when enchanted will produce different words.

The Word of Aster

The Word of Aster is a technique which involves associating words or sounds with each of the five strokes (bifurcated circles) of the Aster during its performance. These can be non-meaningful sounds akin to "speaking in tongues" or "Enochian", which happen spontaneously and intensify the effort and conjure a more pronounced Aster.

The word of Aster can also be a premeditated ritual using the word ORBIT (the acronym for Observe, Release, Believe, Integrate, and Transcend) as a mnemonic for engraining a good philosophical attitude to life.

The Aster of ORBIT

Whereas the Penter of ORBIT uses the Observe, Release, Believe, Integrate, and Transcend of the acronym ORBIT as the means to accompany an abdominal massage, the Aster of ORBIT uses these words as an incantation.

Each syllable is apportioned to an arc of the Aster and the Aster comprises of 10 arcs (5 strokes). With there being 5 words in ORBIT this would normally end the practice, but because Integrate has 3 syllables while all the others have only 2, the finishing of the ORBIT results in the Aster progressing 1 arc past its completion each time. This results in there needing to be 10 repetitions of the ORBIT to complete a full incantation, which prevents any word becoming too associated with any particular cypher of the Aster during it — each word will start 1 arc further forward each time.

It is the Integrate of the ORBIT which produces the offset necessary to create the extended set, and because of the 10 cycles that are required to complete it, there is sufficient engraining for the incantation to be effective and produce the integration that is required.
