The Sphere of Pentegraph

The Sphere of Pentegraph

The Sphere of Pentegraph (or Pentegraph Orb), is the temple of geometry. The housing of the Altar of Megak from which comes the Geight and is the antecessor for the discovery of the hidden dimensions of the Mirrorway. The Globe of Pentagrams exist within it from which the Inner Circles are found.

The Upper Penter (right), and the Lower Penter (left), are the positions in which they are discovered above and below the equator of the Pentegraph Sphere. This produces the Penter's central pentagrams to have a point up aspect in the upper equatorial and a downward pointing aspect in the lower equatorial band. The respective good and bad association with this orientation (which has no historical validity and is quite recent in its invention), could encourage a corresponding mythical interpretation such as angels above and demons below. Which would be interesting (but non-sensical), as these two aspects persist regardless of the orientation of the orb.

The reason why we find the '2 down, 1 up' configuration more natural, is that this is how we find things in nature because of gravity. It is inherently more stable—and therefore likely to exist—if 2 things are underneath 1 thing in the world of gravity. However, Pentegraph is not gravity influenced. It really doesn't matter which way up they are, and as the Penters and Asters are inverse to each other, they will always be in a configuration of opposites, and so it depends upon whether you are looking at the Aster or the Penter to say which is the '2 up, 1 down' or '2 down, 1 up'.

The Lower Asters are '2 up, 1 down', as are the Upper Penters.

The Upper Asters are '2 down, 1 up', as are the Lower Penters.
