Taijitu

The Taijitu—or the Yin Yang symbol as it is also known—is I believe a representation or diagram of two rotating spheres. I think this because of my own hypnopompic experiences, and my belief that other people have also had this vision of two rotating lights, going back to our very beginnings.

The vision was of two glowing balls rotating around each other filling my field of vision. It was a very powerful experience, and I could still see it when I opened my eyes.  It was independent of my eyes as this proved. Normal dream images do not achieve this persistence, but when the same mechanism produces this stuff, they are called visions. I took a chance by opening my eyes, recognising that I might lose the experience by doing so, but I had to know how far it went. The image wasn't as strong when overlaid normal sight, but was unmistakably still there and rotating.

It is the absolute perfection of the experience that is astounding. The eyes do not follow the balls of light, it is just experienced like a video. The motion is utterly smooth, unlike anything that can be reproduced physically or artificially. The background is velvet smooth black, without any of the granular residue that can be noticed from visual processing. This is an image that is produced solely without sensory input, or even prior influence from any source. It is divine.

I believe that the yin yang symbol is a diagram of the same experience, and that it represents the rotating of two balls of light. I could be wrong, but the Taijitu (yin yang symbol), which also has origins in European culture too, such as the artifact on the left from the Vinča culture in Romania—which is over 5,000 years old—perhaps have their precedent in visions such as the one I had. It is a significant experience and one which is likely to have been had by other holy men or shamans etc through the ages. If you were to try and represent the experience in a static picture, the Yin Yang symbol would be the way I would do it, as it captures the moving aspect of it (You show movement in static representation by showing a trail), - its rotation is what is striking. After moving into its centre (which was blue) and entering into an OBE, I returned to find that the rotation had slowed to about half speed.

The Ajna chakra is what I have also equated the experience with. The word "chakra", has its origins in circle (kirkos), and wheel, and signifies rotation, which would certainly fit the experience. The chakras are also associated with the Lotus plant, and the thing that is significant about this plant, is that its leaves repel dirt, and are therefore clean and unsullied, with the purity that is associated with the divine. It is the purity of the experience that is most memorable. It is very holy.

I have seen a great many of these rotating structures, with different configurations and number of "spokes" and varying rotation speeds. It is called "phosphene imagery", which when they appear there is a part of me denying their presence and asking me to ignore them as they are not important and common; but they clearly are not normal to the state of consciousness or awareness that is viewing the experience. They are momentous and divine, and perhaps common to the mechanism producing them, but not to the normal life mode of awareness. The societal shroud that engulfs our lives does not provide any hooks for this stuff to hang itself on, and is filtered out of our illusory normality. But this stuff is really going on all the time under the veil of what we call reality; we're just not tuned into it.

I now find myself performing Exwhykirkos techniques with Rhabdos or with just the hands, with glowing luminous objects in the dark, which in the mirror looks uncannily similar to the hypnopompic experience, and yet I have not tried to imitate it, and it seems as if it might have been a strong visual premonition of Pentegraph and Megak.
