Principles of Pentegraph
The principle of Pentegraph is to engrain movement patterns into physical consciousness.
The areas of the brain which map the physical body are not proportional to the size of the particular part of the body, but rather to the amount that part of the body is being used. This is the somatosensory cortex in the brain, and the hands are by far the largest area mapped within the brain due to their greater usage, compared to the knees which have a relatively tiny area. Our physical being is mapped in consciousness in this area of the brain shown on the right.
The patterns of circles produced with the Penters and Asters use the maximally efficient method to 'colour in' a joints range of movement and so will increase its associated brain area with neural strengthening due to the activity, thereby increasing physical consciousness.
By having a pattern that can be repeated and used like a module of performance, and then applying that pattern within other patterns or as part of something greater, a system of movement is created for the purpose of exercise, choreography or art form.
The efficacy of the performance is achieved by the great number of repetitions that are achievable due to the repeating nature of the techniques (they are all based upon circles), and the neural entrainment that results from this.
The pattern can be applied like a paintbrush within another greater pattern, lending its credibility by its geometric authenticity. The layering of this justified medium is the artistic validation for the creation of art works in 2, 3 and 4 dimensions. The Penters and Asters, which are the modules of activity, produce the texture within a continuous movement that covers the space around you providing a canvas for performance.
The point is to have just one pattern, that you repeat and repeat over many years and so it just becomes a part of you, and then use this engrained and automatic pattern to use in some enhanced combinatorial manner. This is Pentegraph. The continual practice of Penters and Asters to form the background of some technique or whatever.
As the performance of Penters and Asters produces the appearance of randomness — even though they are very ordered with a perfect geometry — the form has to be given to a flow, or something else for it to be seen as valid. Perhaps it is part of a song and dance which has yet to be composed. I await a conjunction.

It is a long-term strategy and the bits come together in their own way in their own time. The increase or quickening happens naturally, without any intention or desire, it is just the story that I am telling of it, at this particular point within it. I increase the amount that I am doing in one particular aspect as a natural extension of just being capable of doing it, and doing it. It is the natural quickening that occurs by following a strategy, with that strategy being cognisant of natural workings. The divine guidance is an understanding of the divine, which is a way of knowing how it works and strategically taking advantage of it.
Our physical self is a myofascial tensegrity structure, with osteoblasts and fibroblasts laying down new tissue where tensional activity produces piezo effects, and osteoclasts and fibroclasts clearing away dis-used tissue where there are no piezo effects — due to the lack of exigencies placed upon it — which then allows the collagen fibres to form within and along the resulting meridional structure.
The understanding of our mental selves as being a neurological landscape, with weighted synapses within paths of primed thoroughfares creating everything that we experience — including the story telling of it — allows the certainty that by following a divine path the best way is being taken because it is only ever a story and the best story is the "One Story" — the universe — and its unfolding, self-witnessed by our selves.
A skill is a patterning in by repetition to produce the most efficacious and effortless action to achieve whatever is being done. To be fit at doing something means that you fit the pattern that is required to do that thing. The way it will be, will be from habit forming. The body will build itself to be whatever the body needs to be, to do what it is doing. By making it perform natural geometry which is justified for the human form as is found in the Pentegraph Orb, the necessary strengthening of the body will be acquired from the repetitions.
Figures of eight turning into infinite spirals until spiralling out of control, and getting really fluid so you are no longer restricted by limiting concepts. Spiralling out of control abandons oneself to the divine and allows the natural way that is happening, not our concepts view, which we know are not full. With this we can transcend our species and acquire a more fluid, octopus like (I guess I'm sounding really crazy now!) behaviour, where our rigidity from our bone based construction is less constricting.
To learn to do this spiralling out of control can be by physically spiralling, which can be learnt to do and just requires the strength of fabric of the physical body to allow its performance. The fabric becomes stronger by using it. It does mean a lot of injury on the way there, though.
Build the structure first and then abandon to it. Relax and let it fill itself in. The power from within is a focusing on the centre of gravity as the root from which the arms and legs can transmit a force. Soft flexible arms with a flick circle at focus in an explosive like manner. It is necessary to cultivate the required relaxation to be able to flick the limbs about, which would behave like a wave all along their length (including toes/fingers). It doesn’t take any effort when there is no resistance.
A higher energy state is created by having relaxed muscles and eases the restriction that is due to tension. Just got to really relax. The release that produces the capabilities realised from it are on a much higher level of energy plain, with an absolute ease as in floating.
When the tensegrity is working more effectively, gravity has less effect due to a more fully functioning body. But gravity is part of the structure; it is not separate to it. It isn’t something to fight against, it is something to use. It is ultimately where the energy comes from; this is the principle behind Earth
in spiritual languages. Centring oneself is the same as harnessing the gravity. Gravity is a constant force upon us which is prime to our existence. We must harness gravity and become yoked with it. Also, the centripetal forces that are conspicuous during energetic performances, are significant and key to the roots of Pentegraph Self Forming.

Synopsis
Pentegraph is a system of human movement, the training for which can be performed in the dark using luminous parts of the body.
The Circle is the ultimate base of Pentegraph.
Pentegraph can be divided into Penters which are 2 dimensional paths, and Asters which are 3 dimensional. The Penter draws upon a 2 dimensional surface even though it curves and assembles into a sphere, while the Aster is quintessentially 3 dimensional and is the actual circumnavigation of a sphere.
So, it is a system of body movement based upon natural geometry, with the principal of colouring in the full range of joint mobility by using the movement of the rotating of figure eights in the Penter, and continuous circles in the Aster. A game of creating circles in the air with hands and feet, tracing paths described by the geometry of the Pentegraph Orb. Interconnected paths joining circles together on the surface of a sphere for the purpose of exercise, self-defence or performance art.
