Pentegraph Introduction
Pentegraph is a performance art using natural geometry with interconnected paths joining circles together on an imaginary sphere around you. It is a system for performing four dimensional geometric patterns as art, entertainment, and exercise.
Our limbs describe circles around us at the limit of their extension, encasing us in an invisible orb. The divisioning of this orb reveals a game of creating circles in the air with hands and feet or sticks and balls of light, producing natural geometric patterns and a performance in four dimensions. Exploring the flowing paths of our limb mobility, and the movement parameters within the physical world of this human form, Pentegraph provides the structure for the revelation of cosmic geometry.
We operate within a construct of space and time, and that means "paths" are defined in our movement. Everything occupies a place in 3D space, whether it be a hand, a foot, a head, centre of gravity, yoked pivot point, an eye etc., and has got there from another place via a path it has travelled. These paths are the means by which we can describe and define our movement. They are the lines with which we can draw a picture around ourselves, with ourselves, and produce ourselves as art.
Because our arms describe a sphere (or partial sphere due to the limitation of a joints range of movement), when the arms are extended, the path that is the most natural for them to follow will be the geometric paths that can be naturally patterned onto the surface of a sphere. This means circles - the perfect form in nature.
The circle is the most perfect path geometrically and is central to Pentegraph. Pentegraph is about the interconnected paths that are created by joining circles together on the surface of a sphere. The circles are always joined to another circle, and therefore perform figures of eight in their looping, and in their rotation lead to the Penter, which leads to the Aster.
There are always two parameters to something (max and min; etc), and so there is always a natural division into two, and then four follows quite easily after that. The divisioning into three occurs from x,y,z dimensional language. Five is the story of Pentegraph and the divisioning of a sphere, as circles always arrange themselves into clusters of five when equally spaced on the surface of an orb.

As an exercise system, it uses the principal of colouring in the full range of joint mobility by using the movement of circling figure of eights. A circle has its direction reversed by continuing it into a figure eight, and the rotation of those eights results in them having their direction reversed also, producing a fuller range of movement than can normally be easily achieved. The limbs are exercised equally in every direction. If done with weights in the hands, the patterns of Pentegraph form the structure for the ultimate arm strengthening exercises.

As a dance, it is the patterns that are produced by the performance of the practicing of Pentegraph, that become the objects of display - visual pictures animated and drawn by the body.
If performed in the dark with luminous apparatus, in the mirror all you see is dancing lights, which take their form from the patterns of Pentegraph.
It can become a game of creating circles in the air with hands and feet, tracing paths described by the geometry of the Pentegraph Orb. Drawing synchronised patterns in the air with the joints of the body, describing circles and figure of eights, layered through the successive joints, creating circles within circles within undulating waves. Figures of eight helically turning into infinite spirals, until spiralling out of control with the greatest of order, and getting really fluid so you are no longer restricted by limiting concepts. Spiralling out of control abandons oneself to the divine, while following the flow of divine geometry.

Performed upon paper with wax, an art technique and style has formed. This is called Penteglyph, because the Penters that are used to create the texture are carved away to produce the picture. Pente means five, glyph means carve.

As a potential martial art of self-defence, there are no attacks, only a continuous shield of defence, and so could be the perfect martial art for those who really don't want to fight. A shield of natural geometry which includes the literal drawing of a pentagram around oneself for protection - the Whyzedexwhy. This might even be the original meaning behind the saying of "drawing a pentagram around oneself for protection", long since lost and obscured by fiction.
Every movement in a martial art, whether it be a block, punch, kick or whatever, has the object of the movement (e.g. a fist), travel along a path. This system defines the paths that are justifiable by the natural geometry of conjoining circles. The patterns that derive from this geometry determine the paths, and any martial interpretation follows this. The martial aspect is the very last test that demonstrates a mastery of oneself. Until then all efforts should be in controlling oneself, not another.

I believe Pentegraph lies somewhere between being a martial art and dancing, and is applicable to both but not actually either. As Pentegraph is still being developed and discovered by me, I ultimately don't know what it is yet. But this hidden aspect of its development has inevitably lead to an esoteric interpretation of its usage in Megak, and its foundation in self-forming means it pops up in the Yoke of Self Form too.
